Mr. Elias Edu is a seasoned administrator with over 28 years working experience, half of which had been served in various capacities in the insurance industry including as Company Secretary/Director, Industrial and General Insurance (Ghana) Limited and Company Secretary/Principal Officer, NIC General Insurance Company Limited, a position from where he was appointed Acting Managing Director.

He is a graduate of Law from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria. Mr. Edu also holds a Masters’ Degree in Law [LLM] from the same institution and Masters’ Degree in Business Administration [MBA] from Kampala International University, Kampala, Uganda.

Prior to his appointment as Company Secretary/Head Corporate Services of NIC, he served in other sectors within the group, including as Head of Legal Services, Monarch Communications (Nigeria) Limited; and as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, International Health Management Services (Nigeria) Limited. He is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute [UK]. Mr. Edu assumed the role of Managing Director of NIC General on 1st May, 2025.
