NIC Life Assurance Company Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited. NIC Life Assurance was incorporated on 3rd March, 2014 and took over the Life insurance businesses of NIC in compliance with the legal requirement for separation of insurance businesses under the Insurance (Amendment) Act.

NIC Life is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced person to take up a positions of Bancassurance Officers.

 Job Title         :          Bancassurance Officers.

Reports to      :           Chief Operations and Business Development Officer

Location          :           Head Office

Purpose: Responsible for driving the growth of bancassurance business by providing insurance solutions to bank clients within assigned partner branches. The role focuses on identifying sales opportunities, closing business, and maintaining strong relationships with bank staff and customers to ensure seamless service delivery and goal attainment.

Key Result Areas

Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and prospect potential clients within the bank branch to promote insurance products.
  • Execute sales strategies to meet and exceed monthly premium targets.
  • Conduct professional sales presentations and product demonstrations to bank customers.
  • Lead negotiations and follow up on leads to ensure a high conversion rate of closed business.

Relationship Management & Collaboration

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with bank staff (Branch Managers, Tellers, and Loan Officers) to facilitate referrals.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the insurance company and the partner bank branch (e.g., DFCU).
  • Ensure that the MOU requirements between the insurance company and the bank are strictly adhered to.

Operations & Customer Service

  • Provide accurate and timely information to clients regarding policy features, benefits, and pricing.
  • Assist clients with the completion of proposal forms and ensure all required documentation is collected.
  • Support the claims process by providing initial guidance and gathering necessary information from claimants.
  • Maintain a high standard of professional demeanor and appearance consistent with the banking environment.

Reporting & Performance Tracking

  • Prepare and submit daily/weekly activity reports to the supervisor regarding leads generated and sales closed.
  • Monitor personal sales performance against set KPIs and implement improvement plans where necessary.
  • Keep up-to-date with market trends and competitor offerings within the bancassurance space.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with regulatory requirements and internal company policies.
  • Maintain high levels of integrity and transparency in all customer dealings and financial transactions.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Gross Written Premium (GWP): Achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets.
  • Conversion Rate: Percentage of bank referrals successfully converted into closed policies.
  • Customer Retention: Rate of policy renewals and customer satisfaction scores.
  • Documentation Accuracy: Error-free submission of proposal forms and KYC documents.
  • Branch Relationship Score: Feedback from bank partners on collaboration and service quality.

Job Qualifications and Experience

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous experience in sales, marketing, or customer service, preferably within the insurance or financial services sector.
  • Bancassurance Knowledge: Familiarity with bank operations or insurance products is an added advantage.

Job Skills and Abilities

  • Exceptional Sales Skills: Proven ability to persuade, negotiate, and close deals.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and relevant local languages.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build rapport quickly with diverse personalities.
  • Self-Motivation: Results-oriented with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Professionalism: High level of integrity and a polished professional presence suitable for a banking hall.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to handle customer inquiries and objections effectively.

Remuneration

  • Retainer: 300,000/= per month.
  • Variable Pay: Monthly commission based on closed business and target achievement.

 Job Title         :           Chief Operations & Business Development Officer

Reports to      :           Managing Director

Purpose          :           Responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of NIC Life’s core operations while driving sustainable business growth.

The role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, customer-centric service delivery, and profitable expansion through effective distribution, partnerships, and product-market execution.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Operations Leadership
  • Provide overall leadership and direction for life insurance operations including underwriting, policy administration, claims, customer service, and agency/bancassurance operations.
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve operational processes to enhance efficiency, quality, turnaround time, and cost control.
  • Establish and monitor operational KPIs, service level agreements (SLAs), and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure strong risk management, internal controls, and business continuity across operations.
  • Oversee vendor and outsourcing arrangements to ensure value for money and service quality.
  1. Business Development & Growth
  • Develop and execute the company’s business development and distribution strategy aligned to NIC Life’s corporate objectives.
  • Drive premium growth through agencies, bancassurance, corporate sales, digital channels, and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify new markets, customer segments, and growth opportunities for life assurance products.
  • Lead negotiations and management of key partnerships, including banks, brokers, affinity groups, and corporate clients.
  • Oversee sales performance management, incentive schemes, and productivity improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present operational and business development reports to Management.
  1. Product & Market Execution
  • Collaborate with Product Development, Actuarial, and Marketing teams to launch competitive life insurance products.
  • Ensure effective product positioning, pricing discipline, and go-to-market execution.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform business decisions.
  1. Customer Experience & Service Excellence
  • Champion a customer-first culture across operations and distribution channels.
  • Ensure timely, fair, and compliant claims settlement and policy servicing.
  • Implement customer experience improvement initiatives and digital service enhancements.
  1. Digital Transformation & Process Automation
  • Lead digitalization of operations and sales processes to improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Support implementation of core insurance systems, CRM, workflow automation, and data analytics tools.
  • Use data and analytics to drive operational and sales decisions.
  1. Leadership and Human Capital
  • Build, lead, and develop high-performing operations and business development teams.
  • Support talent development, succession planning, and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  1. Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor

Job Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Insurance, Business Administration, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Master’s degree (MBA, MSc Insurance, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
  • Professional qualifications in insurance are desirable.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the insurance industry, with significant experience in life Assurance operations and business development.
  • Proven track record in driving business growth and managing large operational teams.

  • Strong knowledge of insurance principles, policy wordings, and claims management processes.
  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
